Device Technician
Full-Time Position
Plextronics is seeking a technician for the fabrication of organic electronic devices including organic light-emitting diodes, organic photovoltaic cells and organic transistors.
Responsibilities:
- All facets of device preparation including substrate cleaning, solution preparation and casting, cathode deposition and encapsulation. Some of these steps are conducted in a cleanroom, which requires one to be comfortable working in a cleanroom environment, wearing cleanroom attire and using glove boxes on daily basis;
- Testing of the devices utilizing various opto-electrical equipment such as power supplies, electrometers and light meters;
- Inventory and on time ordering supplies before depletion;
- Equipment maintenance and taking proactive measures in upkeep of the facilities;
- Installing new infrastructure for future development.
Education/Experience/Skills:
The successful candidate will have a 2-year college degree or a Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering, Materials Science, or Physics or specialized training in one of these area.
Candidates must possess a good technical background and a strong aptitude for conducting research in a commercial environment. Familiarity with organic electronics, vacuum deposition, device testing, clean room, glove boxes is a plus, but we will train the employee if necessary.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills a must, as is the ability to think and plan ahead. We are looking for individuals with a commitment to company values.

Patent Agent
Part-Time Temporary Position
Plextronics seeks to fill the position of Patent Agent.
Responsibilities:
- Plextronics seeks a part-time Patent Agent to review, analyze, and database references found in the course of a Freedom to Operate
(FTO) search and prepare summaries of what is covered.
- Other responsibilities include working with scientists to review, analyze and database references found during course of literature reviews.
- The Patent Agent will also work the Products team to understand what additional FTO searches are needed.
- This position will require on-site work either one 8-hour day or two hour days per week for six months.
